ABSTRACT
This position paper discusses environmental research infrastructures (ERIs) in the making via some of our attempts to make sense (collaboratively / ethnographically / interventively) of such a shape-shifting, socially
diverse and spatially distributed phenomenon. We propose to reflect, with other participants of the workshop, on ways in which visual representations helped us (or not) to generate, share and render available the scaling, scoping and configuring acts that those tasked with their development engage in.
